Welcome from the Dean of Early Years

Dear Families,

Thank you for considering TACAPS Kindergarten. Our Kindergarten provides the essential foundational years for our Preparatory Years (F-6). Our goal is for every student to reach their potential by being confident and involved learners, who engage in quality and approved Early Years’ Curriculum and Co-curricular Experiences. Play is at the heart of our programs and we strongly believe that “Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn” (Fred Donaldson). Creative, dramatic, nature, construction and exploratory play are embedded and encouraged in our daily learning experiences.

The Arts, Languages and Physical Educational programs are successfully introduced and developed within the early years, providing students with rich learning opportunities and effective communication skills. Technology skills and competencies are encouraged through the variety of relevant digital resources that the students are able to access daily. Students develop a strong sense of identity and connectedness within the school and local community through our Pastoral Care Program and weekly and yearly events such as Chapel, Assembly, Performances, Athletics Carnivals, Under 8’s Week, Mother’s Day, Grandparents and Father’s Evening events.

We value the collaborative role that the Kindergarten and families play in their child's learning journey. Our open classroom policy and encouragement for you to be involved as much as you like is appreciated by the parents/carers.

What a wonderful privilege it is to have our daughter enrolled at TACAPS Kindergarten.

As I was leaving the Kindergarten the other day I was quite overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude and thanks. Every day she is greeted with enthusiasm and love. Every week there are new activities to help her discover and learn. All of which have been carefully planned and organised months in advance. On this particular day a group of boys were busily building a dam wall, an impromptu concert was being held on the new stage, the class chickens were being fed by the students from the herb and vegetable garden and inside a group of children were constructing a Qantas plane out of boxes and looking up on the iPad to see how to draw the logo!!!

As a parent I feel so welcome and will often hang around at drop off with my toddler. All of the staff make us feel welcome and extend the same care to our youngest son as they would the children enrolled. Thank you for all that you and your fabulous team do everyday to create such a wonderful Kindergarten. We are truly blessed to be apart of such a School.
Many thanks,
TACAPS Kindy Parent
